Welcome to the West Street Clock Shop – a historic building in St Anthony, Newfoundland. We are currently under development to renovate the building with plans to have rental space for artists, small businesses and short term residences. We are also hard at work developing a brewery that will be a highlight of the West Street Clock Shop!
History
Since 1935, the Clock Shop has been providing the Town of St Anthony with a place to congregate for business and pleasure. Originally, the building offered a co-operative store, where foodstuffs from the Northern Peninsula were bought, held and sold. As time continued, the Shed was added in 1946. Finally the buildings were joined together.
In recent times, the Clock Shop has housed a pharmacy, a doctor’s office, Academy Canada, the Canadian Paraplegic Association offices, the Northern Pen, a Florist, Pizza Delight, a sub shop, and many other businesses that added to the growth and industry in our town. Now with a little work and a lot of love, the opportunity has come to make this building the center of attention once more.
Reconstruction
By the end of 2018, we plan to see business and residential accommodations back in the Clock Shop. By 2019, the RagnaRöck Northern Brewing Company Ltd intends to open its doors for the community and the tourists, bringing quality craft beer into town.
To make this a reality, however, we need to have businesses set up in the building. There is ample room for growth and development.
32,300 square feet of floor space are going to be taken down to the bare bones and built back up. We will build to suit your business’s space and utility requirements. If a place in this prominent building appeals to you, contact us for more information and to set up an appointment for a walk through. Continue reading “Reconstruction”
